Open for Antiracism - Supporting Educators to Use Open Education for Antiracist Teaching

Launched in 2020, the Open for Antiracism (OFAR) program engages and supports California Community College faculty in transforming their classrooms to be antiracist by leveraging OER and open pedagogy. Participating teams of faculty will join a community of practice learning about antiracist pedagogy in the fall through an asynchronous facilitated online course. ASCCC OERI Webinar: Zero Textbook Cost (ZTC), Open Educational Resources (OER), and XB12, the New Instructional-Material-Cost Data Element

A new section-level data element has been introduced by the California Community Colleges Chancellor’s Office that provides a code to track course material costs. XB12, Instructional-Material-Cost, has been added to the California Community Colleges Management Information System Data Element Dictionary. The implementation date for the new code is summer 2022. Join us for an overview of the existing definitions of ZTC and guidance with respect to the new data element.
