I acknowledge that in serving as an ASCCC Representative, I have participated in this course and responded to all the assessment questions and agree that I have responsibilities as detailed within this course including understanding:
- that I am promoting the positions of the ASCCC and not those of my local college or me individually;
- that I must maintain communication with the ASCCC through written reports, oral conversations, or other mode of communication;
- that my appointment is for one year with the option, at the discretion of the president, of serving for one additional year;
- that I should maintain consistent attendance and participation, professionalism in both conduct and attitude, respect for approved ASCCC positions, and communication with the ASCCC;
- that I must commit to attending all meetings of the groups on which I serve and if I am not able to attend, alert the ASCCC via info [at] asccc.org (info[at]asccc[dot]org) so that another representative can be identified;
- that the Academic Senate expects all of its representatives to exercise their own voices and discretion, but appointees are not in all cases free to argue for their own perspectives; and
- that the Academic Senate’s work on behalf of faculty is guided by official positions approved by delegates at the ASCCC’s bi-annual plenary sessions, and therefore all ASCCC representatives are bound to hold faithful to these official positions.
