Whereas the intent of AB 1725 was to reform the California Community College system and identify the central role that full-time faculty play if those reform measures were to be successful, and
Whereas the system has not made positive steps toward the successful implementation of the provisions of AB 1725 as related to 75/25 ratio.
Whereas faculty leaders need to have a thorough understanding of how districts comply with the full-time faculty hiring faculty obligation established by the Chancellors Office,
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge the Board of Governors to return to the spirit and intent of AB 1725 as it relates to the 75/25 ratio, and
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges direct the Executive Committee to continue the dissemination of information and training to local senates regarding districts' faculty hiring obligations, and
Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges direct the Executive Committee to conduct a survey to establish 75/25 ratios for California Community Colleges and assist local senates in conducting the survey.
