California Community College Enrollment Fees

Whereas the Governor has proposed an increase in California community college student enrollment fees to $15.0 a unit, and


Whereas CPEC has considered a proposal that California community college student enrollment fees be fixed at 20% of the cost of instruction, a proposal which would raise enrollment fees, and


Whereas the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges should not support increased enrollment fees to fund financial aid as is in the Governor's proposal, and


Whereas California's economic recovery depends on ready access to education,


Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges reaffirm its historical position opposing enrollment fees for California community college students, and


Resolved that the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge the legislature to support an enrollment fee rollback.
