The position of Coordinator, Library & Learning Resources Programs, is no longer in the Chancellor's Office. The committee has worked with the Council of Chief Librarians and the Learning Resources Association of California Community Colleges to ensure that library concerns are communicated to the Chancellor's Office (especially the Vice Chancellor of Educational Services). The chair of the CLFIC is currently serving as the chair of the Chancellor's Office Library and Learning Resources Programs Advisory Committee and maintains regular communication with Chancellor's Office staff.
Whereas, Library and learning resources programs are essential to student success; and
Whereas, College library and learning resources programs benefit from having a staff presence at the Chancellor's Office;
Resolved, That the Academic Senate for California Community Colleges urge the Chancellor's Office to reconsider its decision to eliminate the position of coordinator of library and learning resources programs.
